When the HP2HT team arrived at Atlantis last April, we were surprised to find the cupboards bear and the children and women residing at Atlantis going hungry. Of course, we immediately went shopping for rice, fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, eggs, and other healthy mainstays of the Filipino diet. And, what we did made a huge difference for the month of April.
After returning to Hawaii in May we sent an emergency short term food supplementation allowance to the Atlantis staff to fill in the shortfall for the second half of May. And now from June forward, the children and mothers of Atlantis need your help. But, they only need your help for a limited time because HP2HT has a LONG TERM SOLUTION in place, the Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Program. Please view Sustainable Tropical Agriculture Program to see what makes the Short Term Emergency Food Program so viable and SHORT TERM.
Our best guess at the needs of this Short Term Emergency Food Program is approximately U.S. $750 through June, 2009; US$700 per month through December, 2009; US $600 per month through June 2010, US$500 per month through December 2010; US$400 per month through June, 2011; US$300 per month through December, 2011; US$200 per month through June, 2012; US $100 per month through December 2012; and U.S.$00 (Zero) per month beginning January, 2013. Atlantis should be FULLY SUSTAINABLE with its food needs by no later than the beginning of January, 2013.
Please give and pledge what you can to this valuable SHORT TERM program. You can help the orphans and women of Atlantis to be truly Helping People to Help Themselves through the fantastic food model they are creating for the needy in orphanages the world over.
